PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the determination of peroxidase activity using a chemiluminescent system capable of determining the peroxidase activity in high sensitivity in the presence of a hydrogen acceptor. SOLUTION: Peroxidase activity is determined in high sensitivity in the presence of a hydrogen acceptor in a chemiluminescent system using a chemiluminescent reagent containing a chemiluminescent substance produced by adding an amino-alcohol compound such as monoethanolamine during and/or after the photochemical reaction of an N,N'-disubstituted-9,9'-bisacridinium salt in the presence of an N,N-disubstituted-carboxylic acid amide compound under light irradiation.
