PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the printability and light resistance of a recording paper by a method wherein an ultraviolet absorber and a hindered amine compound are added to a water-based urethane for coating an ink jet recording paper. SOLUTION: As an ultraviolet absorbing material, 2,4-dihydroxy benzophenone, 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy benzophenone or the like is exemplified. The ultraviolet absorber loadings are preferably 0.001-10 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of a water-based urethane. If the loadings are 0.001 pts.wt. or less, a stabilized hardening is not enough. Even if the loadings are above 10 pts.wt., no more stabilizing effect is enhanced and undesirable generation of an evil influence such as the development of lees easily results. As a hindered amine compound, 2,6-bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidilamino)hexane/dibromoethane polycondensate or the like is exemplified. The preferable loadings of the hindered amine compound is 0.001-10 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of a water-based urethane. |
