PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque transmitting tube and an endoscope which can simplify the production equipment as compared with a conventional type, moreover, can significantly sorten the production time, and can sufficiently transmits a rotary torque along with being excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: The torque transmitting tube is provided with a first layer 1, a second layer 2 to be externally fitted onto the first layer 1, a third layer 3 to be externally fitted onto the second layer 2 and a plastic cover layer 4 to be externally fitted onto the third layer 3. The layers 1, 2 and 3 comprise flat plates made of metal spirally wound. The first layer 1 and the third layer 3 are wound in the same direction while the intermediate second layer 2 is wound in the opposite direction and the layers are kept in close contact with each other. The coil gap G of the layers 1, 2 and 3 is set 1/2 to twice as much as the width dimension of the metal plates forming the respective layers 1, 2 and 3.
