PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubrication composition for improving the corrosion of copper-lead bearings of an engine which comprises a borated dispersant, a metal salt of a phosphorus-containing acid, a metal overbased composition and a borate ester. SOLUTION: A composition for reducing the corrosion of copper-lead bearings in a preparation is a composition comprising a major amount of a lubricating viscous oil and a minor amount of a corrosion reducing additive containing (A) a borated dispersant having a total base number of 20-160 on an oil-free basis; (B) a metal salt of a phosphorus-containing acid; (C) a metal overbased composition containing at least one of a carboxylate salt, a phenolate and a sulfonate salt in which the metal is lithium, sodium, potassium, magnesium or calcium; and, as an improvement, (D) a boric acid ester, the boric acid ester and the boric acid chloride dispersing agent, herein, giving 20 to about 800 ppm (mass) boron.
