PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for molding capable of giving a molded article excellent in shock resistance, and to provide a method for producing a molded article from the composition. SOLUTION: A glass fiber roving is immersed in an emulsion of an acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer or an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer to coat the glass fiber roving with the emulsion. After heated and dried, the treated roving was cut to obtain glass fiber-reinforced resin pellets. The pellets are blended with polyethylene terephthalate to obtain a molding resin composition having homogeneously dispersed glass fiber. By molding this molding resin composition, a molded article having excellent shock resistance is obtained.
