PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrophilic siloxane latex emulsion which provides excellent hydrophilicity and rewettability by subjecting an acrylated or methacrylated polyether siloxane copolymer to polymn. in a solvent. SOLUTION: The acrylated or methacrylated polyether siloxane copolymer is represented by the formula wherein R is R1 or P; each R1 is independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group; each P is independently R3 [(CbH2bO)zCOCR4= CH2]g (wherein R3 is a polyvalent org. group provided it may be a hydroxylated alkylene group; (g) is the valency of R3; R4 is H or methyl; (b) is 2-4; and (z)is 1-100); m+n+p+o is 1-100; at least one R is P; (n) is 1-100; n/o is lower than 10/1; n/p is lower than 10/1; and (m) is 0-10}. During the polymn. of the (meth) acrylated polyether siloxane copolymer, at least one other (meth)acrylate may be present.
