PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revetment block for protection which is installed on a river reservation such as a high water channel and a low water channel, or a slope of a bank. SOLUTION: A plurality of recessed parts 12 and projecting parts 11 to be engaged with each other are formed on four side surfaces of a rectangular base part 1 to form an engagement part, and the recessed parts and projecting parts are complementary to each other so that one set of the engagement parts on two sides opposite to each other are symmetric to each other in the right and left direction, and the other set of the engagement parts on two sides opposite to each other are engaged with each other. When revetment blocks are arranged, the engagement parts complementary to each other in their recessed parts and the projecting parts are engaged with each other, and difficult to shift.
