PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce heat conductivity between a motor and a tool housing by providing a heat shielding means between the stator of the motor and the tool housing in a portable power tool. SOLUTION: A portable power tool includes a housing 10 formed with a hand support and provided with an inner face and a motor 11 arranged in the housing 10 and provided with a stator 22 encircled by the inner face of the housing 10. To control heat conductivity between the motor 11 and the housing 10, the portable power tool is provided with at least one heat shielding shell 32. The heat shielding shell 32 is preferably formed from a thin sheet metal element with no heat insulating characteristics in itself.
