PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sizing drawing capable of manufacturing a composite wire including a hard metallic element wire excellent in dimensional precision and having no deterioration of quality of material and a method for manufacturing a metallic fiber by applying this method for sizing drawing. SOLUTION: In a method for sizing drawing including a process to execute sizing drawing containing the process that performs the area reducing work to the prescribed dimension against a composite wire comprising plural metallic element wires continuous in the longitudinal direction and a metal different from the metallic element wire and further comprising a base material including the metallic element wire, such a cold drawing is included that quality of material of the metallic element wire is a hard metallic material, the area reducing work allows no insertion of heat treatment in the process, and the sectional area of the metallic element wire in the composite wire is made less than 1/35.
