PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing solid fuels capable of molding and solidifying a high water content refuse in one apparatus and simple and reduced in energy consumption. SOLUTION: An apparatus for producing solid fuels from a crushed combustible refuse comprises a raw material introduction opening 7 at the top, a casing 1 having a tapered part 2 downstream from the introduction opening and being connected with a driving device upstream from the introduction opening, the casing having a screw conveyer means 3 which diminishes along the tapered part of the casing and a molding pipe 4 which is connected with the end of the papered part of the casing at the downstream side, the tapered part 2 having a water discharging function which is constituted by a perforated plate or a water permeable material surrounding the tapered part, the molding pipe having a heating means 5a and a cooling means 6 downstream from the heating means 5a, and the connection of the end of the tapered part of the casing with the molding pipe capable of being made through a conical pipe 9 provided with a screw.
