A beverage dispenser includes a product coil (16), an in-line carbonator (13), and a dispensing valve (14). The product coil (16) is coupled to a product source (15) to deliver product to the dispensing valve (14). The in-line carbonation system (13) includes a housing including a chamber therein, a carbon dioxide gas inlet (26), a water inlet (24, 25), and a carbonated water outlet (31). The in-line carbonation system (13) includes a porous insert (22) disposed in the chamber of the housing. The porous insert (22) includes a cavity coupled to the carbon dioxide gas inlet (26), so that carbon dioxide gas passes through the porous insert (22) and enters the chamber of the housing to mix with water delivered from the water inlet (24, 25) of the housing, thereby forming carbonated water. The dispensing valve (14) is coupled to the product coil (16) and the carbonation system (13) for dispensing product and carbonated water to form a carbonated beverage drink. |
