The device has a ground-mounted fastener (6) with an elongated, roughly cylindrical mounting spike (10) projecting up from it. The spike can be inserted into an underside hole in a pile or post-like object (4), such as a fence stake which is to be held rigidly during alignment checking and setting in concrete. A supporting plate (16) with upward projections (18), is pressed into the base of the object. The spike is thinner than the underside hole, and the plate forms a separate fixing component on its base, which through friction and / or shape-mating engages with at least one part of the outer circumference of the spike. The support may have a central penetration, for the spike to pass through, and which may also have an inner diameter which is equal to, or preferably less than, the outer diameter of the spike. |
