A mechanical device comprises a dynamic means which generates heat and/or vibrations and a static structure which supports the dynamic means and which is connected to the dynamic means, with a vulcanised rubber part interposed between the dynamic means and the static structure at the point of connection comprising a shaped vulcanised compsn. comprising a mixt. of (a) an elastomeric olefin (co)polymer, (b) 10-35 wt%, of the elastomer content of the mixt., of an elastomeric, halogen-contg. copolymer of a 4-7C isomonoolefin and a para-alkyl styrene, (c) a particulate filler and (d) a curing system for the compsn.. Also claimed is a motor or engine mount comprising a mixt. of (a)-(d) above.
