The present invention provides human vascular endothelial cell growth factor (hVEGF) antagonists, including monoclonal antibodies, hVEGF receptors, and hVEGF variants that are useful for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, as well as other diseases and disorders characterized by undesirable or excessive neovascularization.
