PURPOSE:To industrially and advantageously produce an aromatic carbonate in high selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing an aromatic carbonate which comprises thermally reacting with heating under pressure, an aromatic hydroxy compound with carbon monoxide and molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of palladium and palladium compounds; (b) at least one kind of cobalt compound; (c) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of organic halide compounds and inorganic halide compounds; and (d) a basic compound. |
