For the prodn. of bristles, for brushes, continuous monofilaments of different types are brought together along their longitudinal line into mixed strands, in the composition required for the brushes. The mixed strands are wound on bobbins, to be drawn off and cut into lengths. Preferably two or more strands are wound together into a combined mixed strand, where they are of different types of continuous monofilaments with identical monofilaments in the centre. The mixed strand is wound and rewound a number of times. The different continuous monofilaments are assembled into a single bristle bundle or packet, in the composition required for the brushes, to be wound as a mixed strand. The strand is drawn off and cut into lengths for the bristles, or multiples of the bristle length. The mixed strand, on being unwound, is cut into bundle lengths to be covered by a sleeve, to be cut into bristle lengths to be held together for brushes of different types. The different continuous monofilaments have differing dias. and/or materials and/or profiles and/or surface structure and/or colour for assembly into the mixed strand. The monofilaments are assembled into the mixed strands directly after extrusion. |
