A lap-top computer has a body including a keyboard 138, and a lid 130 containing a display screen hinged to the body. The lid includes a resonant panel loudspeaker, and a pair of acoustic waveguides or horns 167 to direct the sound from the loudspeaker in a desired direction. The waveguides are capable of being moved from a retracted position to an extended position as shown.
