The switch is built into the steering wheel column of a road vehicle and has a lever actuator that has a spring-loaded plunger that engages a track to provide the required positions. The movable contacts [24,25] are set into arms [17,18] that project from a central bridging section [5] and the unit is pivot [14] mounted. Each of the contact units is spring-loaded 22,23]. When the actuating lever is operated the moving contacts engage those [31,32] on the base [3].
