PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an index print by which a photographing time or a day near to that can be recognized by providing a printing pattern output means, a printing means or the like for printing an outputted date information printing pattern in the specified column of the index print. SOLUTION: In a CPU 3 provided with a function as a printing pattern output means, 1st to 5th patterns are decided. Then, in the case of index print processing, the images of all the frames (for example, 40 frames) of a roll of film are read by a scanner part 11, converted into electrical signals and necessary image processing is applied thereto. Thereafter, the images of the respective frames are arrayed on an image memory and the image of date information in accordance with the date information printing pattern of the 1st to the 5th patterns is formed in the column of a memorandum. Image data on the image memory generated in such a way is successively transferred to a surface printing means 4 set that one index print is obtained.
