<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an operation when a user selects desired data and to reduce operation burden by setting information on a maximum size which is range- selected by an anchor to the maximum recording capacity of a storage medium. SOLUTION: In selecting data of a desired range from data displayed on the screen of a display, a setting means sets information on the maximum size of a range which can be selected (S1). Then, it is judged whether an operation by a user is a range selection operation or a range decision operation (S2). In the case of the range selection operation, a detection means detects the size of a selection range during an operation and it is judged that the size exceeds the maximum size and whether the range is operated or not (S3). When the size of the selection range does not exceed the maximum size as the result of judgment, the operated selection range is set to be a new selection range (S4). When it exceeds the maximum size the range selection operation is canceled and the previous selection range is held (S5).</p> |
