PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a recording medium driving device to be used, for example, in a computer and a word processor and small-sized and thin electronic equipment provided with the driving device. SOLUTION: In the recording medium driving device provided with a holder 10 housing and holding a jacket J in which a recording medium is housed and a shutter releasing lever 15 which is turnably attached to the holder by the turning supporting point part 15a provided at one end and which moves a shutter to a releasing position by allowing the operation projecting part 15b provided at the other end to be abutted on the shutter J1 of the jackey in accordance with inserting operation of the jacket J, a projected supporting point part is provided in one of the holder 10 and the shutter releasing lever 15 and a hole to be engaged with the projecting supporting point part in the other and the turning supporting point part is constituted by allowing the projected supporting point part to be engaged with the hole and also the holder 10 is provided with a notched part and at least one part of the lever 15 is arranged in the gap between the upper surface of the holder and the notched part.
