PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high convergence performance by forming a horizontal deflecting coil and/or a vertical deflecting coil of plural independent coils divided into four or more by flat surfaces including a tube axis of a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: A deflecting coil 1 is divided into two by an X-Z surface, and furthermore, divided into two by a Y-Z surface (divided into four in total), and formed of four independent saddle type coils 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, and each coil is connected in series and in parallel with each other. In using this deflecting coil 1 as a horizontal deflecting coil, the coils 1a, 1b and the coils 1c, 1d are arranged over and below the X-axis. With this structure, each pair of coils 1a, 1c and 1b, 1d is formed opposite to each other in the vertical direction, and a horizontal deflecting magnetic field is formed between these pair of coils. Degree of freedom in adjustment is improved to twice or more in relation to the conventional one, and convergence can be accurately adjusted.
