PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium producing device capable of stably forming a uniform thickness magnetic layer on a substrate side by preventing the generation of splash or the like. SOLUTION: The producing device is constituted so as to provide a mesh body 10 formed from a high m.p. metal such as tungsten W along the inside surface of a housing recess 3A of a crucible 3 made of MgO. Because the mesh body 10 itself has a structure absorbing the deformation even when the mesh body 10 is heated with a magnetic material 9 heated by the irradiation with electron beam, the stripping of the mesh body 10 from the inside surface of the housing recess 3A is prevented and the cooling action by a cooling device from the crucible 3 side is uniformly transferred to the magnetic material 9 through the mesh body 10. Then formation of a reaction product with the crucible 3 by the local heating of the magnetic material 9 is suppressed and the generation of the splash is also suppressed and the magnetic layer having the uniform film thickness is stably formed on the medium side.
