PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control transmitter which can save the electric power that is consumed for illumination of display with a certain degree of visibility maintained. SOLUTION: A small LED is provided for each of 7-segment (6 digits) displays 31-1 to 31-6, and the lighting control parts 32-1 to 32-6 corresponding to the displays 31-1 to 31-6 detect whether the numeric characters are shown on every display. Then only the lighting control part that has detected the display of numeric characters turns on its corresponding LED 33. In such a constitution, only the part of a display where the numeric characters are shown is illuminated. Thus, the electric power that is consumed for illumination can be saved while the visibility is maintained for the display contents. |
