PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell, capable of efficiently supplying substances, such as a reaction gas and electrons to a catalyst layer as a whole, even if a diffusion layer is thinned, having little temperature dispersion arising in a battery, and surely providing electrical contact between a gas diffused electrode and a current collector. SOLUTION: A gas diffused electrode 36 is made by forming a water-repellent layer 36c, including a carbon powder on one surface of a diffused layer 36b made of a metallic mesh or metallic porous body, and furthermore, forming a catalyst layer 36a including an electrode catalyst on the side of the water- repellent layer 36c. Then an electrode/electrolyte jointed body 32 is made by jointing the gas diffused electrodes 36 on both surfaces of an electrolyte film 34. A solid polymer type fuel cell 30 is made by sandwiching the electrode/ electrolyte jointed body 32 between current collectors 38. |
