PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily input commodity information even in a comparatively small scale store by inputting the price information of a prescribed read commodity and storing it in a memory when the price of the commodity is not stored in the memory. SOLUTION: When a clerk reads out a bar code displayed on a commodity to be purchased by a customer by a scanner its corresponding price information is retrieved from a bar code/amount information correspondence data recording part. If the price information of the commodity corresponding to the bar code read out by the scanner can not be retrieved it means that the commodity is not stored in the recording part yet. Thereby the clerk sets up a commodity price registering mode on a register body by depressing a set key and then inputs the price information of the commodity through a ten-key pad. Consequently, the price information of the commodity is stored in the recording part.
