PROCESS FOR PREPARING BITUMENT COMPOSITIONS

PURPOSE: A process for preparing a bitumen composition is provided which has a good low temperature performance and a good high temperature rutting resistance. CONSTITUTION: A bitumen composition comprises mixing at an elevated temperature an oxidised bitumen having a penetration index of at least 0 with a thermoplastic rubber which is present in an amount of less than 5 wt.%, based on total bitumen composition; bitumen compositions obtainable by such process; and the use of such bitumen compositions in asphalt mixtures for road applications.
