PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil that is smaller in size and capable of yielding sufficiently high secondary energy. SOLUTION: A coil body 20 is finished flat, by stacking a disk-type primary coil winding member 45 in which a primary coil winding is wound, and a disk- type secondary coil winding member 40 in which a secondary coil winding is wound, with their winding centers aligned on a common straight line. After cross core pieces 30A and 30B are attached across the upper and lower sides of the coil body 20, the coil body 20 is accommodated in a case body 12 and is fastened by insulating resin injected to filled the case body 12.
