PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interruption mechanism for operating system, which can be transported to different data processing hardware. SOLUTION: An interruption mechanism 36 contains a software interruption management component 60 managing at least one software interruption process during a software interruption processing and buffers a system parameter in an interruption stack. The management component is constituted to be independent of hardware. A hardware-depending component 56 selects an interruption stack 58, calls the management component 60 and it can be operated so that a software interruption processing is managed. A hardware-depending interface releases the selection of the interruption stack when the software interruption processing completes. Thus, a common management process for software interruption, which suppresses a 'glue' code to be minimum, is provided.
