HD TELEVISION FRAME SYNCHRONIZER FOR PROVIDING A HIGHT DEFINITION DEGITAL VIDEO WITHOUT A VARIABLE DELAY

PURPOSE: A synchronizer for a HD television which can allow an encoder of the HD television to process video frames or any other data frames during a synchronization loss and a method of thereof are provided. CONSTITUTION: A synchronizer for processing data frames which are inputted to a data encoder (100) when a synchronization loss is detected between inputted data frames and the data encoder includes; means for monitoring the inputted data frames in order to detect the synchronization loss between the inputted data frames and the data encoder; means for providing a pre-synchronization loss data of the inputted data frames to a data compactor of the encoder before detecting the synchronization loss; means for providing substitution data which are synchronized with the pre-synchronization loss data when the synchronization loss is detected; means for monitoring the inputted data frames in order to detect whether the synchronization of the inputted data frames is recovered; and means for providing a post-synchronization loss input data of the inputted data frames to the data compactor after detecting the recovering of the inputted data frames synchronization and providing a last frame including the substitution data to the data compactor. Therefore, according to the synchronizer, a frame rate and a video clock rate in the post-synchronization loss of the pre-synchronization loss frames is automatically compensated.
