PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device fabricating method is provided to perform an appropriate alignment process without a rubbing. CONSTITUTION: The method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device which has a pair of substrates(12, 14) opposing spaced apart from each other, an electrode and alignment film(18, 22) formed on one of the substrates of the pair, an electrode and alignment film(22, 24) formed on the other of the substrates, a liquid crystal(16) inserted between the substrates, the method comprises the steps of: forming an alignment film containing a polymer realizing a vertical alignment characteristic to the substrate; and irradiating an ultraviolet rays of non-polarized light to the alignment film in an inclination direction below 45 degree with regard to a surface of the alignment film, with an exposure amount of 30 to 120mJ/cm¬2 per 1% of a content of the polymer realizing the vertical alignment characteristic of the alignment film.
