PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for confirming a cable length without preparing many kinds of cable length confirming marks, requiring no watcher, and hardly affected by vibration of a cable or the like. SOLUTION: In this method, cable length confirming marks 2 provided in a cable 1 with prescribed intervals are composed of a conductive material, and electrodes 3a, 3b are made to contact with the running cable 1. When the confirming mark 2 passes the electrodes 3a, 3b, conduction is realized between the electrodes 3a, 3b by conductivity of the confirming mark 2, the number of the passed confirming marks 2 is counted by the conduction, and the length of the cable 1 is confirmed based on the counted number of the marks 2. This method provides sure cable length confirmation because it is the confirmation based on the conduction between the electrodes 3a, 3b by the marks 2, and many kinds of cable length confirming marks or a watcher are/is not required. |
