PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate misalignment on the locus in the spiral scanning by the write magnetic head and the read head by delaying by a semicircle per one revolution of a magnetic disk or setting an offset and thereby setting the position of the read head properly at the access position of the write magnetic head in the radial direction. SOLUTION: When the write side magnetic head 3b is in a position of D distance from the outer circumferential side of a disk 1 and writes test data, and the disk 1 turns by a semicircle so that the position where this test data position is written in comes to the position of the read MR head 3, which is also positioned at the D distance from the outer circumference of the disk 1 by receiving the same positioning control signal. As a result, the read MR head 3 can scan the disk 1 by plotting the same locus as that of the spiral scanning of the write side magnetic head 3b.
