BUS SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING SUBSCRIBERS INTERCONNECTED VIA THE BUS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A bus system and method for diagnosing subscribers interconnected via the bus system is provided, which has subscribers interconnected a bus which one subscriber is assigned as a master and the other subscriber is assigned as a slave. CONSTITUTION: The bus system comprises: subscribers interconnected via a bus, wherein one subscriber is the master (1) and the other subscribers are slaves (2, 3, 4); and a diagnostic system (5). The master (1) comprises a diagnostic system. current and/or voltage data of at least one output of at least one slave, which output is to be diagnosed, are stored in the diagnostic system (5). On the basis of a program stored in the master (1) the outputs can be diagnosed under conditions which are or can be predetermined. Thereby, it is possible to provide reliable diagnoses for enabling differentiated error data with respect to individual subscriber outputs to be obtained without incurring great expenditure on the diagnostic system.
