PURPOSE: A novel polycarbodiimide polymer and a car-painting composition containing thereof are provided, which is rapidly adhere to extensive materials, one-package applicable, transparent, weather-proof and could provide various damaged and undamaged materials with excellent moisture and final adhesiveness. CONSTITUTION: Following formula(I) represents the polycarbodiimide polymer: wherein m is 1-20, n is 1-20, p is 0 or 1, R1 is a monomeric or polymeric chemical species containing only one functional group reacting with isocyanate group; R2 is any radical available from aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or shielded aromatic diisocyanate; R3 is preliminary prepared polymer block such as polyester, polyacrylate, polyurethane, polyether, polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyurea, polysiloxane, or their similar hybrids; and X is any combination of following formula(II):The car-painting composition containing the polycarbodiimide polymer is produced either by (i) synthesizing polycarbodiimide block and modified block respectively and then linking them or (ii) forming polycarbodiimide directly into modified block.
