PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a more precise and efficient vehicle navigation considering the traffic circumstances changing every moment by comprising processes of receiving the actual speed data for a plurality of road sections, and the like. SOLUTION: In vehicle navigation, the use of real-time traffic data is performed by, for example, a vehicle navigation unit 108 and a traffic management center 102 communicating therewith. The actual road speed collected by a local police is reported to the traffic management center 102, and such information is sent as a message by a prescribed method and transmitted, for example, from a transmitter 104 as FM signal sub-carrier. The vehicle navigation unit 108 determines the passing time using the actual speed data for a plurality of routes to a designation on the basis of the information received by a receiver 110, and selects the quickest route. The estimated arrival time to the designation is also provided. |
