摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position selection system for a mobile communication circuit network to decide the accurate position. SOLUTION: The position decision system for portable communication sets such as cellular telephone sets has many small exclusive multiple correction devices placed at known positions. When a portable communication set starts a call, a base station 14 in a coverage area gives a command to a transponder 12 to generate a reception reply signal. A characteristic of a signal from the portable telephone set and the transponder 12 is provided to a base station controller linking with the base station 14. The base station controller uses original device position information to derive a rough position and derives a correction vector representing multiple distortion of at a transponder signal in an area of the portable set by using the known position of the transponder and the original transponder position information. Since the portable telephone set generally has an experience of the same distortion as that of the transponder 12 in its area, the correction vector is applied to a rough device position to obtain the true position.
