PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dimension in the flexure direction of the locking lances of a connector. SOLUTION: Flexible locking lances 161-162, installed in a connector housing 2 serve as partition between terminal receiving chambers 3 as well and are entered into the terminal receiving chambers to be positioned, slanted partitions 101-102 continue behind the locking lances, the slant partitions follow horizontal rear partitions 91, 92, and front partitions 222-223 having taper guides 22a to press tips of terminals in the flexure direction of the locking lances are positioned in front of the locking lances, at the same height as that of the rear partitions 91, 92. The distance L4 between the front partitions is at least the sum of the height of the terminals and the flexure margin L1 of the lance 161. The front partitions 222-223 are formed in a front holder 4. The slant partitions 101-102 are formed in a terminal locking spacer 6 and serve as terminal locking walls at the same time. A second engaging stepped part of the terminal for the slant partitions 102 is formed lower than a first engaging stepped part with respect to the locking lance 162.
