PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor prevented from occurrence of white dulling and gelatinizing of a coating fluid in the case of storing an coating fluid for an undercoat layer for a long period or using the one in a high concentration or storing it at low temperature and capable of forming a superior image quality. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided on a substrate with an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer on this layer and this intermediate layer is formed by using a coating fluid prepared by dissolving a soluble nylon in at least a benzyl alcohol. It is preferred that a benzyl alcohol content in a solvent is 15-85% of the solvent, when the coating fluid for forming the intermediate layer is prepared by dissolving the soluble nylon in the benzyl alcohol.
