PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten load imposed on a user at the time of attaching/detaching a process cartridge by providing a means carrying and feeding the process cartridge between the vicinity of the entrance of a cartridge attaching part and an attaching position and a means carrying a recording medium. SOLUTION: A positioning shaft 23 installed in the process cartridge advances into an auxiliary guide rail 20 and is brought into contact with the feeding part 19a of a cartridge holding member 19 and the inclined surface 20a of the rail 20 by the gravity of the process cartridge. When operation to insert the cartridge in the image forming device is performed, the member 19 is rotated centering around a driven gear and a supporting shaft being the fulcrum of the member 19. The cartridge advances into the image forming device along the feeding part 19b and the inclined surface 20a. Finally, the shaft 23 is held between the positioning part 20b of the rail 20 and the member 19, whereby the shaft 23 is positioned at two spots for a device main body.
