METHOD FOR PEELING EXTERNAL JACKET FROM OPTICAL FIBER CABLE AND OPTICAL FIBER JACKET PEELING TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a tool for peeling an optical fiber jacket by which the jacket is not teared along the longitudinal of the cable. SOLUTION: The method and a device for peeling the external jacket 392 from the optical fiber cable 390 are disclosed. An end part of the optical fiber cable 390 is put between the upper cutting surface 310 and lower cutting surface 320 of the optical fiber peeling tool 200. The optical fiber cable 390 is held with the upper cutting surface 310 formed almost along a 1st half part of the circumference of the external jacket 392 and the lower cutting surface 320 formed nearly along a 2nd half of the circumference of the external jacket. By the cutting surfaces the circumference of the external jacket 392 is cut. The cutting surfaces are released from the jacket, whose cut part is removed from the optical fiber cable 390.
