PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly measure the fiber submerging angle at each position from a natural lumbar. SOLUTION: A camera 3 is placed right against a natural lumber 1, and a light source 2 can vary the angle of illumination with respect to the lumber 1. A processor 4 calculates a prescribed angle smaller then the angle obtd, by varying the angle of the source 2, e.g. the luminance value of every 1 deg. with interpolation from the angle of the source 2 set in an actual photographic mode and also the luminance value obtained by the actual photographic based on the image of the lumber 1 which is photographed while the angle of illumination of the source 2 is varied by a prescribed angle, e.g. every 10 deg.. Then the processor 4 decides an angle of the source 2 that can secure the highest luminance among all the luminance values. Based on this angle of the source 2, a fiber submerging angle is decided at each pixel position. Thus, the fiber submerging angles ξ can be decided at all pixel positions of an image that is photographed by the camera 3. Then a two-dimensional scalar field where the angles ξ are registered at each pixel position can be generated. |
