PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium battery which suppresses reaction between a lithium metal and an electrolyte and having a long battery life by providing the lithium metal and the electrolyte in a battery can, and filling the gas suppressing the undesired reaction between the lithium metal and the electrolyte into the battery can. SOLUTION: Hydrogen sulfide or moisture of 10-500 ppm is sealed into a battery can, and battery members are assembled in the battery can in an atmosphere of hydrogen sulfide, moisture or the mixed gas of hydrogen sulfide and moisture. A lithium secondary battery 1 is constituted of a positive electrode body 11, a positive electrode battery can 12, a gasket 13, a negative electrode body 21, a negative electrode battery can 22, a spring 23, a separator 31 and an electrolyte holding material 32. The positive electrode battery can 12 faces the positive electrode 11 s contact with it, the gasket 13 is provided at the edge of the positive electrode battery can 12, the spring 23 is provided on the face of the negative electrode battery can 22 in press-contact with the negative electrode 21, and the electrolyte holding material 32 is provided on both the surface and back face of the separator 31. |
