摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically widen the transmission band of a fiber and to cope with high-speed communication by making the diameter of a photodiode smaller than the diameter of a multi-core plastic optical fiber. SOLUTION: A sheath is composed of 2-layers, the periphery of a core 1 is surrounded by a first sheath 2a and the periphery of the first sheath 2a is surrounded by a second sheath 2b. To the plastic optical fiber, the photodiode of the diameter smaller than the diameter of the fiber is combined as a photodetector. That is, by making the diameter of the photodetector of a data link smaller than the diameter of the plastic optical fiber, communication corrected to incident numerical aperture(NA) smaller than the incident NA made incident on the entire cross section of the multi-core plastic optical fiber is made possible. In such a manner, the photodiode of the diameter smaller than, preferably 0.3-0.9 times of, the diameter of the multi-core plastic optical fiber is combined and it is preferable to change the multi-core plastic optical fiber to the one of a larger diameter and use it.
