PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify troubleshooting for errors of address specification of an NIC prepared for individual function and to make it possible to use without being conscious of these address errors. SOLUTION: A digital composite machine is equipped with plural functions such as a printer function, a scanner function or a FAX function. Network interface cards (NIC 11, 12, and 13) as LAN interfaces are provided to each of these functions and have original addresses respectively. Here, even when there is a function demand for the NIC of a wrong address, it is possible to obtain correct addresses from outside by each of the NIC 11, 12 and 13 storing other NIC addresses. Also, when an erroneous function demand is inputted as above, each of the NIC 11, 12 and 13 is equipped with a function to notify a correct NIC address to a demanding party or to transfer the demand to the correct NIC.
