PURPOSE: A secondary battery which can prevent the deposition of lithium on a negative electrode plate in the last stage of the cycle life of the battery, has an excellent cycle characteristic, and is high in safety and reliability. CONSTITUTION: The secondary battery comprises a positive electrode (4) having an active material and a conductive material and a negative electrode (5). In the rechargeable nonaqueous electrolytic solution secondary battery, the positive electrode (4) contains an active material and a conductive material, such as the Ketjen black, a mixture of the Ketjen black and flake graphite, or a mixture of the Ketjen black and acetylene black.
