PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve moisture resistance by using 1,2,4,5-tetramethyl benzene of concentration in a specified range in solvent, whereγ-butyrolactone and/or ethylene glycol is set as the main component as solute. SOLUTION: In electrolytic solution for driving aluminum electrolytic capacitor, 1,2,4,5-tetramethyl benzene represented by the formula is used as a solute. As a solvent, where at least one type ofγ-butyrolactone and/or ethylene glycol is made as the main component, is used as a solvent for dissolving the solute. At this time, the added amount of 2-methyl-1-pyrroline or its salt set to about 0.1-about 10.0 weight %. This 1,2,4,5-tetramethyl benzene has properties in that it absorbs water which infiltrated inside the product and changes into 1,2,4,5-benzene tetracarboxylic acid. Thus, water which infiltrated a product is absorbed, and the moisture resistance of the product is improved.
