PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the inside of a furnace from being contaminated through re- evaporation of metal while prolonging the lifetime of a heat insulating material by stretching a non-ventilating material of natural flaky graphite shaped into a plate or a sheet while covering the heat insulating material thereby preventing metal vapor or wax evaporated from an article to be treated from intruding into the heat insulating material. SOLUTION: A treating chamber 2 is formed while being surrounded by a heat insulating material 3 in a pressure withstanding furnace body 1 and an inner roll 4 is supported by a bearing 5 on the inner bottom of the treating chamber 2. Cooling water is circulated through the inner roll 4 by means of a water supply joint 6 and an article 8 to be treated is carried into the treating chamber 2 while being supported on a ring 7 arranged on the outer circumference of the inner roll 4 and heated by means of an electric heater 9 before being carried out therefrom. A non-ventilating material 10 of natural flaky graphite shaped into a plate or a sheet is stretched over the wall face of the treating chamber 2 while covering the inner face of the heat insulating material 3. The non-ventilating material 10 prevents wax or metal vapor evaporated from the article 8 at the time of heat treatment surely from intruding into the heat insulating material 3.
