PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact and inexpensive device by providing an incident beam diffusion means between a light source and a prism. SOLUTION: A shading plate 2 with a pin hole 3 is arranged between a light source 1 and a prism 4. As a result, the light of the light source 1 being emitted while being diffused passes through only the part of the pin hole 3 and enters a sensor element 5 where a measurement target is sent. Also, the range of light incident on the sensor element 5 is limited. Light irradiated to the sensor element 5 causes surface plasmon resonance on the sensor element 5, is reflected, passes through the inside of the prism 4, and enters a detector 6. The light is processed as a measurement result and is outputted. Also, the angle range of the incident light can be adjusted by changing the size of the pin hole 3 or the distance between the shading plate 2 and the prism 4. In this case, a space for moving the shading plate 2 is required.
