PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for performing temperature increasing tests of a self-cooling type gas-insulated transformer which does not use a carrier base. SOLUTION: A rotational speed of a gas blower 9 provided in a gas supply pipe 10B between a radiator 1 and a transformer body 2 is controlled, so that testing, a flow rate of a gas circulated through the radiator 1 and transformer body 2 matches with the flow rate of the gas flowing therethrough in an actual operation mode, under the state in which a temperature increasing test is carried out.
